INTRODUCTION

After completing this minor, students should be able to:

  1. Design, with justifications, learning initiatives that enhance the sense of national identity and learners’ global perspective;
  2. Analyse the salient curriculum and pedagogical features of prevailing secondary school citizenship curricula;
  3. Explain key features of adolescent development and the importance of cultural diversity with empirical examples; and,
  4. Develop classroom-based and out-of-classroom learning activities that cultivate positive thinking, problem-solving skills and ethical reasoning.
