香港教育大學（教大）社會科學與政策研究學系、香港研究學院及香港科技大學（科大）公共政策學部聯合舉辦2023至24年度「公共政策對話系列」講座，第三場題為『兩極化世界中的香港：仍是超級聯繫人和東西方中介？』。由教大顧問（公共行政學）、科大客座教授及前運輸及房屋局局長張炳良教授、科大陸恭蕙教授、行政會議前非官守議員召集人陳智思先生、香港浸會大學王向偉先生及科大劉浩典教授主講。

兩極化世界中的香港： 仍是超級聯繫人和東西方中介？ 

Hong Kong used to be a major gateway to China and an intermediary between China and the world particularly the West. However, the world has now changed. Intense US-China rivalry, regional conflicts and anti-globalisation sentiments are defining the new normal. Also, China has transited from an era of reforms through opening to Western markets and methods to the present new era of the Chinese path to modernization. After 2019 China has taken national security as a priority in the city while the doubtful West now sees it as a system less separate from the mainland.  Hong Kong seems caught in a dilemma and risks losing its strategic distinctness and connectedness. Can it reinvent its intermediary role in a more complex and polarized world?
