Notes:
(1) Classes will be held in Tai Po Campus and Tseung Kwan O Study Centre / North Point Study Centre / Sports Centre / Kowloon Tong Satellite Study Centre as decided by the University.

(2) Students admitted into this programme are required to visit the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and/or other parts of Chinese Mainland. The programme may also require students to participate in other non-local learning experience for completion of the programme. While the visits are subsidised, students are required to contribute part of the estimated cost of the visits ("students’ contribution"), whereas any personal entertainment, meals expenses, travel document fee and personal insurance costs shall be at students’ own expense. The estimated cost of the visits and students’ contribution for students admitted to the coming cohort is yet to be available due to a variety of factors such as inflation of cost of the visits, trip duration, traveling expenses, the exchange rate, etc.

(3) Starting from the 2024/25 cohort, students admitted to the full-time Bachelor of Education and Double Degree programmes are required to fulfil the “Exit Requirements for Teachers’ Professional Conduct and Ethics”, which consists of three components: 1) Fulfilment of assessment requirements of Field Experience; 2) Satisfactory completion of two required courses related to Teachers’ Professional Conduct and Ethics; 3) Fulfilment of relevant co-curricular requirement.

Field Experience

Field experience (FE) is a core domain in both the pre-service and in-service teacher education programmes at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) which aims to support students to develop the graduate attributes of the University, i.e., Professional Excellence, Ethical Responsibilities and Innovation (PEER &I), and to nurture them to be outstanding and caring educators and professionals who contribute constructively to sustainable social and economic development in Hong Kong and beyond. Career Prospects/Professional Recognition

This specially designed Double-Degree Programme will offer our students ample opportunities not only to equip themselves with the pedagogical skills essential to effective teaching, but also to enhance their professional skills which are applicable to academic and other professional contexts. Graduates are expected to be eligible to apply to be Registered Teachers (RT) in Hong Kong and could teach Primary Humanities in primary schools with the subject knowledge and pedagogical experiences provided. Meanwhile, the sociological training of the Programme also enables graduates to pursue diverse career options in the government sector, non-government organisations and commercial firms, and especially those with a community focus.
